The Murray County 9-1-1 Center operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week and is responsible for:
- Answering emergency and non-emergency calls for service within Murray County, the City of Chatsworth, and the City of Eton
- Dispatching appropriate public safety departments to calls for service based on jurisdiction
- Coordinating multi-agency responses to calls that require the response of more than one department
- Monitoring and reporting weather conditions for the safety of the citizens, visitors, and public safety personnel
- Processing public safety personnel field-initiated requests
- Maintaining computerized records of calls for service for all public safety departments within Murray County, the City of Chatsworth, and the City of Eton
- Providing callers with instructions for rendering aid in medical emergencies
